When I was in the 3rd grade there was a girl named Sunday, she was all of about 3 feet tall. Sunday had a quick smart mouth, she was my bully for a few years. I was bigger than most girls in my class, taller, chubby and could run like the wind.

Normally when lining up it was size order, which made Sunday first in line every time. With the exception of going out to recess. When called to get in line anyone could be first, one day I was that first person.

Sunday whispered insults to me, then pushed me. I was caught off guard, not standing straight up, so I fell into the wall hitting my head.

I was a child, so I pushed Sunday back, she gave out a fake scream. The class looked to me, the insults started because of my size compared to tiny Sunday. Once out the door the entire class chased me, not one person could catch me.

What does this story have to do with Rwanda and DRC you might be asking? DR Congo is a huge country with tons of natural resources and wealth totaling $43 trillion. Rwanda is the tiny, innocent East African country, still in the graces of Prince Harry. (added for sarcasm)

Sunday was my bully but because of my size no one believed me not even the teachers, to this day if I ever see Sunday man oh man!

Everyday a new incident, ignoring it is no longer an option. Reading the news, watching the videos not wanting to address the pink elephant in the room. Rwandans mock, joke and laugh at the claims the DRC (Demogratic Republic of Congo) it’s becoming an everyday shitshow.

It is called throwing a stone and hiding your hand in according to what my momma used to say when I was growing up.
