Good journalists matter and are needed all over the world. Sadly because of the title many took to laughing at the article when posted on social media “Family Searching For Missing Head” Headlines matter and people often react without ever reading or clicking on the article.

Stories have hit social media about the missing head of a 50 year old Kenyan man identified only as Esilaba in multiple stories. His full name is actually Alfred Esilaba and his body without the head was found by his brother.

In Emuhaya, Vihiga County the family of Albert are pleading for the return of his head. They’ve gathered the community and asked for others to be on the lookout for the head. Police have pleaded with the persons saying “Whatever the reason [for the murder] please return the head to the family!”

“We are pleading with whoever decapitated Alfred Esilaba to drop it (head) somewhere regardless of whether this was a ritualistic murder or a criminal activity,” Masua said.

On his part, Emuhaya DCI Douglas Isaboke called on family members to come for a DNA test to ascertain whether the trunk belonged to Esilaba in a bid to rule out a scenario where the family may bury a person, not their kin.

The area Member of Parliament Omboko Milemba while addressing villagers called on the Interior CS Prof Kithure Kindiki to take full responsibility to ensure the killers of Esilaba are brought to book.

“Kithure Kindiki is tasked with ensuring every Kenyan is secure,” Omboko said.

“We will not remain calm as criminals begin killing our people in pursuit of body parts!” he added.
