Things that are passed down from parents to children is brutality in parenting practices

Let me start out for all the assholes ready to comment off of the title alone. I’m an American I was beat almost to death by my drunken, mentally ill, evil mother from 4 years to 46 years of age. I know damn well bad parenting is all over the world, yet the ‘Culture’ of beating the shit out of your children is ingrained in some societies.
For example I met an Indian woman living in the US, she was in love with her boyfriend, yet had an arranged marriage set up for her by her parents.
This grown woman was so deathly afraid of her parents living in India, finding out about her American relationship, her body would shake as she spoke to me. She explained growing up in India, she said parents had beaten children so severely that they’ve even killed them.
